Re: Surface Irons

Get a torium 20, or a newell, use the avet for yoyo or bait.

Re: Surface Irons

ya its all preference besides two speeds and spectra if for all the guys who cant fight a damn fish come on dont drag em in like an idiot jeeze i got a 38 pounder on 15 at barn kelp come on dont get outfished by a 15 year old besides dont you think its pointless to get a two speed for 100 dollars more on anything smaller than a jx realy? come on

Re: Surface Irons

The Avet JX is just fine for surface iron. If you go with an Avet JX 6/3 this reel will give you more versitility. Surface iron, yoyo, dropper loop and fly linning bait while being able to fish 30-50lb test with no problem. If your not up to spending the bucks I would suggest an Saltist 40h its has great freespool, excellent drags and lots of tourque for grinding on a nice farnsworth yellowtail. Dont overlook the newells or touriums, they are both excellent products. Take a drive down to you favorite takle store and handle all the reels and find the one that feels well balanced on the rod you would like to fish it on.

Roland, for a 15 year old you have a pretty harsh opinion about how other people like to fish. Attitude and opinions like that wont get you many friends.

I notice you are also a deckhand and if thats what you think of the anglers or customers that fish on Sea Star it will only hurt the boat owners business. If it doesnt bother him hes not doing a very good job of running his business. But then again it is his to do with what he wants. So good luck and good fishing.
