adding magnets and casting and all that stuff

Was talking with a guy on the boat last time out about Avet reels and magging them, he told me about a gizmo a buddy used. It was a after market magnet gizmo were you actually could adjust the magnets on the outside of the reel like a fresh-water bass reel.
Evidently his bud had on several of his reels (Avets) and it would work on any model Avet you wanted too,at least up to a lx size.
Anyone ever hear/see such device and if so where/how can get one locally and how well do they work?
*Oh yeah, how much do they cost?

Re: adding magnets and casting and all that stuff

Hi, I fish the surf with two Avets, one lx and one jx both two speed. They are set op with adjustable mags.and cast from 10' to 350' with 8ozs.and bait and no backlash. The adjustable feature permits adjustment for varibles wind casting Wgts,Ect.the cost is $70.00 you install $90.00 installed. Try Bill Thomas @ Custom Rods and Custom Reels If you do not connect let me know and I will give you phone no. I fish Rat Bch. in the south bay daily if you want to try one let me know and we can hook up. Mistered310
