Hold up your left hand. Palm away from you and spread your digits. The one on the right is the levelwind.

I agree, a level wind would be handy on the JX size reel for the deep droppers and jiggers

Away, facing, right, left....it's all good
Another Avet that I would probably buy to replace my Tekotas
I think the Hoo-X and 80 series are taking the R&D time right now |

An Avet w/a levelwind. Is like a Harley w/training wheels.

| Re: Avet Levelwinds? Hardcore offshore saltwater may not like levelwinds as much, but a levelwind avet would appreciated on the Great Lakes for trolling for salmon, trout, musky, and walleye. I use my Avet SX mostly from the surf & boat in saltwater, and wouldn't want a levelwind on it for those purposes. But I'd love to have a levelwind SX for trolling for Great Lakes salmon/trout/walleye. I have used my Avet SX for great lakes trolling (salmon/walleye) and it works awesome, and my friends/family love the little reel too but they definitely are not used to using non-levelwind reels. The SX is great because it is tiny but can handle downriggers/large dipsys/dodgers/etc. with no problem. I think most of the trolling equipment on the GL's is too big anyways, and would love to have a smaller, tougher levelwind reel to use. |
