Avet handle grip

i remember a while back i saw a post on here where a guy slipped some grip over the handle of his larger avet ex. It looked kinda like neoprene or some rubber.
Anybody remember this? know what it was?

Re: Avet handle grip

thanks kris. I did it and it came out awesome. I didn't make it long enough but it fits in the hand good.

Re: Avet handle grip

Kris, what type of glue did you use? I'm being lazy about going back and search. Thanks

Re: Avet handle grip

Do you think any good two part epoxy would work?

Re: Avet handle grip

I guess so, I would use a clear epoxy. Another reason for the epoxy is for lube. Its tight as a mo-fo putting the hypalon on the handle.

Re: Avet handle grip

Warm the hypolon up with a hair dryer, this helps too. I just used 5 min. epoxy on mine.

Re: Avet handle grip

The hypalon Kris recommended is perfect. A tight fit but it doesn't need any heating. Just lube up and it'll slip on in a few minutes of pushing. Use narrow side first, lube up the inside of the hypalon and the initial part of the handle, and place the hypalon on a flat, clean surface. Push downward on the metal handle. It'll slip right in... if ya know what I mean... more lube... easier to penetrate. I used whatever I had at the time... which was flex coat rod wrap. Haha.. and it works

Good job Kris
