rod for lx 6/3

Hi guys im new to the forum and I need a rod for my new lx 6/3 filled it with 80lb berkley hollow(about 600 yards) and short topshot of 50# b.g. hi test (about 50 yards). i need an all around rod for it. I plan to chunk and bait tuna do some jigging and even some trolling for dorado and white marlin aswell as casting wahoo bombs. I need a rod in the moderate price range. I was thinking maybe a cape fear tortuga but tackledirect is on backorder and I need a rod pretty soon so suggestions are appreciated. i need serious help on this one.

Calstar Grafighter GF 7465XL. Outstanding 50# stick.

Re: rod for lx 6/3

What do you consider "moderate" for price? A low end rod that works well is the Shakespeare Uglystick Tiger rods. This is a popular rod for Oregon Pacific halibut fishing.

Re: rod for lx 6/3

I'll second that Calstar 700H, after that my next choice would be a Seeker Cjbf65XH.

Great sticks!

First choice would be a Calstar 700H. Second and more budget minded would be a Tiburon G50F70F.

Re: rod for lx 6/3

Monty, if a Cape Fear rod is moderately priced, enjoy a Super Seeker. Try the SS-CJBF70H. It's not the ideal rod for trolling, but it'll work OK for throwing jigs and chunks.
