Enclosed is a picture of my 257.2 # Yellowfin caught by me ( Louie Marzari ) on my new Avet Pro Ex 30 2 speed. It was caught on February 2nd 2007 on the Independence on 80# line, in the outer waters of Clarion Island. The bait was a Mackeral. I started out with 22 # of drag at strike and had to make several drag adjustments to get the fish to the boat from upswell in a mild wind. I ended the fight with 37# of drag at full to get it to gaff. The rod was an old Sabre, rated at 40-100 # test, which was "bottomed out" most of the fight because I was in the "Praying to the Tuna Gods" position (kneeling) a good portion of the fight. The hook was a Hayabusa 6 0 tied on with a single San Diego knot and I used a short piece of 80# Fluorocarbon as a leader. The Avet reels really do the job!

Would you look at those two old fuckers! Wish I could have make the trip with you guys. Glad to hear Wayne got a cow. How many cows did you catch in your first year of LR fishing? I figure you're at 6 or more.

On 02-17-07, I (Dave Duenas) was in San Quintin, down in baja and decided to charter a panga with Tiburon sportfishing! The weather was outstanding! It was flat calm with a small breeze if that. The enclosed photos are of a 12 lb. ling caught on a mackerel approximately 5 miles straight out from the bay, as well as, a string of reds and various other photos that day. The gear I used was an AVET JX 6/3 - 2 speed reel with 40 lb. test and a GRAPHITE USA 85 MONSTER MAG ROD- custom made by DAN RIVAS at DAN'S CUSTOM RODS in La Puente. We were only in a 150 ft. of water. The fishing in San Q. is rediculously plentiful right now. I limited out on REDs and Caught a few Lings. Its winter, but it must have been atleast 78-80 degrees that day. All and all, it was a fantastic outing. I must also give a hand to my Captain- Elias. Elias has approx. 30 years experience fishing these waters and it shows, what a nice man.
PLEASE DISREGARD THE DATES ON THE PHOTOS, MY GIRLFRIEND DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO CHANGE IT TO THE CURRENT DATE. I'LL PROVIDE PROOF IF NEEDED.
I can't say enough about AVET reels, they're AWESOME! WHETHER ITS ON THE INDEPENDENCE FISHING COW TUNA OR IN SAN QUINTIN, AVET REELS GET IT DONE!!

Absolutely!!! If you fish alone, who'll believe the stories? Even if you have a camera.
