Re: Avet let's me down again!!!!

Not really, if someone has a legitimate problem or runs into a engineering/manufacturing issue with Avet reels WE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT. If we have a fix for the problem we will help. If some acorn dick comes here just to bash one reel manufacture or another or bad mouth the Avets excellent customer service they WILL catch hell. I can be the "customer from hell" at times but I have NEVER had anything but good interaction with Avet. Avet is the "new kid on the block" and doesn't need unwarranted BS about their product. There have been some problems, every thing built by man can have problems, but Avet works to fix them. This is something that happens far to little in today's throw away society.

Hey Keta just because you had good customer support does not mean everyone has.

But in your mind we should all shut the F#$k up because you are happy with them.

That ain't gonna happen.

Re: Avet let's me down again!!!!

No, if someones underwear is wedged up their crack when they call them, they have problems (either yours or Avets) and then they spew crap on the internet about it, I WILL let others know what I've experienced with Avet's customer service. When contacting ANY business with problems you are having with their product/services you should be as polite as possible, at first, but when it's time to switch to dickhead mode do it!! If you have had problems feel free to voice them, just like I'll voice what I've experianced. Last time I looked BD wasn't censoring posts or banning posters for criticizing manufactures, even Avet.

I can be a major pest at times and the people at Avet know who I am. They have always been helpfully and friendly with me, no mater how bad I mess up their reels. I'm sorry to hear that anyone has had bad experiences with Avet customer services but if you are having problems you should step back, count to ten and then call back. The person answering the phone is not a reel tech (I think) and if you have a real problem with their reels it helps to ask for a tech. She has always been pleasant with me.

Bottom line, if you want to go through life being a dickhead with a broken reel IT's YOUR CHOICE. I'd rather save "dickhead" for those that really deserve it and MY REELS WORK. Sometimes we do need to be more assertive but, so far, I've found that the people at Avet don't require it.

BTW, I do want to hear legitimate complaints, either product or customer service, and think most of us here feel the same.

Talking Re: Avet let's me down again!!!!

The reel seat issue is well known and I don't know why they haven't addressed it but I just took care of it myself with some electrical tape that I use to identify my rods on trips.

Brandon, I believe Marks method may work for you. For a 130W it is suggested to use heavy duty duct tape (200MPH) in liew of the electrical variety.
