BTW, if you get custom wrapped rods (done by someone who has a clue), you will never have a problem match reel seat w/ reel. | I didn't build the Stuart or Aftco butts, they already come built. The Avets reel foot is too small to fit on these, Avet knows it, they have a fix for it (longer reel foot), but when you talk to them about it they act like it's the first time anyone mentioned it. If they just make the bigger foot available and admit it's a problem, you wouldn't be reading this thread.

The lack of understanding on this is frustrating.
Some fish these reels with 40lb and a graphite reel seat or NO reel seat. Some are fishing 100lb on them on a rod designed for a 50. The fact the reels can handle it is a good thing, not a design flaw. That they make different seats TO ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS IS A GOOD THING.
Now, the fact they have a person down there that attempts to handle questions she shouldn't? That's a frustration.

She's a nice person but I prefer to talk to the techs when I have a problem or question. Do you rely on information from the secretary when/if you take your car in for service?
The EX4/0 was not intended to be a 100lb class reel, even though they can be tweeked to around 35lbs at strike and 50lbs max drag, so the base was made to fit a lighter rod. If you want a 100lb 30 size reel spend the extra money and get a Pro EX30. My 4/0's are used for 50lb/60lb and 80lb. I have rods, Lamiglass, that my SX base is too big for. Is that Avet's problem? I don't think so.

They make a smaller reel seat for that as well...retails for around $20.

YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT A FLAW WITH AVETS CUSTOMER SERVICE OR THEIR REELS...It is, IMHO, a personal problem that you should take to MY SPACE.COM... If you want a bigger foot, BUY ONE YOU CHEAP-SKATE!!! If you want to fish them like a 5/0, then buy the 5/0 foot... Put it on and fish the living shit out of them...

| Yup, I have one on my SX and I bought it without complaining about Avet. The original base does fit my lighter Seeker rods.
BTW, I just got off the phone with Avet and they were as helpfully and pleasant to deal with as I've come to expect.

Untill now I have been respectful with my post and have avoided simple name calling... GLOVES OFF MOTHERFUCKER... The lame bastard AKA "Buttocksboy" Botoxboy or whatever his handle is gets a 4/02 AVET... Then BITHCHES about the size of the reel foot... The size foot that the reel comes with for YEARS NOW... No mystery to anyone who owns one... Then calls customer service at AVET wanting to get the "bigger foot for the 4/0"... They don't know what the fuck he's talking about, because, "THEY DON'T MAKE A BIGGER FOOT FOR THE 4/0..."slap: They make a foot for the 5/0 that is bigger that fits on a 4/0... If anyone calls me and ask for a reel foot for a 4/0, "You know the bigger one!!!", I'm going to send them the foot for the 4/0, and think the caller is misinformed, :smoking33 ,or just plain stupid, because, THERE ISN'T A BIGGER FOOT MADE FOR THE 4/0... Somehow I don't equate getting what you ask for with a bad day...
If, on the other hand, he post a thread about the size of the foot on a 4/02 being too small for the rods he wants to put them on, and ask what he can do about it? Then he get's a helpful reply about the FACTS from one of us " AVET FAGS", that's what AKA "BLOW JOB" calls people that are knowledgable about AVET's, about swapping the foot with a 5/0 foot to " SOLVE THE ISSUE..." He makes the call, ask for the correct part... Gets the correct part... And it's all good... I don't take issue with people that have a legitimate issue about something... I take issue with DICKHEADS THAT GO OFF HALF COCKED ABOUT STUFF THAT'S DIRECTLY RELATED TO THEIR OWN LACK OF INTELLECT AS RELATED TO COMMUNICATING CORRECTLY WHAT THEY WANT OR NEED...
