Avet Loaner Gear

I have heard of people borrowing reels from Avet for long range trips. I am not sure if they rented the gear or if it was loaned for no charge. I am wondering if anyone has past experience with this, but I want to hear from you guys before I contact Avet. I looking to borrow or rent some heavy gear for my 16 day trip.

Thanks,
Drue

If you are on the Independence, you are covered because they do have some Avet loaner gear. You need to contact their office and arrange it to ensure they have some available though.

Re: Avet Loaner Gear

I'm not on the Indy, I'm on the Star. I already have some rigs reserved with Tracy, but I'm sure they are big Tiagras or Internationals with crossbars. I don't mean to be picky, but I want to fish with an SDS and I heard about people renting direct from Avet. I put an email in to RickO and will see what he says. Thanks for the offer Calico, but I'll be fishing 130-150 pound string for cows at the Revillas. I have a feeling that these fish will try their hardest to beat the shit out of me and any gear I try to use against them. I would rather rent from Avet so they can fix whatever drags and such after such a hard beating. I might have to pop for a SDS, but at this point I hope not.

Great, another noob w/his head up his ass. Too many cows caught on Avets to many that jackass claim.

Drue, Hope Avet can hook you up.

Go back to masterbaiting, or better yet go fuck yourself. The only cows I've lost was due to errors on my part, not reel problems. Avets aren't the only good reels out there but they are not poor quality.

Yep, Ken really doesn't like them for some reason.
But, every reel I've had them work on has had problems so I'll keep fishing my avets.
