Magged Avet

I've got an SX that I magged for surfcasting on the east coast. One 1/4 inch magnet and this rascle cast like a dream. A guy in our fishing club Bought an MX and wanted to mag that bad boy but claims that the spool is plastic. I find this hard to believe. Any truth to this ?

Thanks for any help.

Negative on an Avet plastic spool. I've never seen that B4.

That's what I thought. Well then, full speed ahead with the magnets.
