Avet 16 Size reel???

Anyone know if Avet is planning on building a reel in a similar in size to a Penn 16s/Tiagra 16?? Something that can fish 50-60# line. IMHO, the EX's are too big (heavy) and the LX 2-speed is too small (Maxing out the drag). If it's in the planning, I'd wait to get one ..

BTW, I've got a JX 2-speed that I use for #40 and the drags are the same for the LX so I would think that #50 is pushing it on that reel even tho I know that some people have used them for that..

Re: Avet 16 Size reel???

A Pro EX 30/02 is very close in size and weight to a Tiagra 16, but a LOT stronger. If you're looking for something significantly smaller and lighter than a 16, but still a lot stronger, wait till end of October, and check out new 40/02 5.5/2.5, that should ring your bell, $399.99.

Yes, they are making a 40 class reel. I believe it is on the list after the 80. Should be between the EX 4/0 and the LX.

Or so I've heard,

Mark

Re: Avet 16 Size reel???

They have a 40 N 6/4 2 speed in the works and should be out according to latested talk, mid to late Oct. In putting out their SX 2 speed it put the 40 N behind its original introduction date in August.

It's not a 6/4, it's 5.5 and 2.5 gears. It's the same size as a Trinidad 40 Narrow.
