For the angler that asked if the LX was a little "scratchy". I was hesitant to buy the JX 6/3 because it felt a little grindy to me when turning the handle out of the box. After holding off for a while I finally bought the reel when so many people spoke very highly of them. I just got a nice bluefin on mine. Cast beautifully, great drag, so smooth and powerful. My only complaint was that i smashed my knuckle into the lever drag and split my knuckle open (my fault). The reel is very nice. |
I would not use a Sato crimp for a topshot on a rig like that as you are going to want to use it alot over time before replacement. A uni to uni or the bimini-albright is a good solution. I personally serve all my topshots at 30# and over and do a loop to loop.
You can get a ton of line on the LX, but it's a bitch to yo yo. The JX is better for that and still holds a lot of line.
I'm an Avet HO!
