Avet Reels and Earth Magnets

I was thinking of adding some neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) aka Earth Magnets on a couple of my Avets reels, does anyone know if this will void warrantee?

Slows the spool spin without friction. You have to use less thumb. ONLY WUSSIES USE IT!!!

That's what I was thinking. Fuck, I used to pull the magnets OUT of my old shimano baitcasters...

Re: Avet Reels and Earth Magnets

Well, you can use them to CONTROL the spool. The magnetic field between several RARE EARTH magnets creates resistance. From what I have seen, all record distance casters who use conventionals mag them. Just google "reel magging" for lots O' info.

Over 700 feet in fact, but they use hotrodded ambassadors, mags, 13 foot surf rods, 8 oz weights, and 100 lb shock leaders with 15 lb backing, or just what the doctor ordered to throw a 4" anchovy to give it a nose bleed.

Re: Avet Reels and Earth Magnets

Dont waste your money and ruin your reel by maging it. Just learn how to cast it and you will be fine. Magging an Avet ruins one of the best features of the reel. Not only will it be a waste of money but it will limit your casting abilities.

FYI, some guy on Ebay is selling new Avets already magged. I agree with Mamoo...
