Setup help for new guy

I've only been fishing for about a year, and have learned a lot from the boards here. I'm trying to match a reel to a Calstar WC 670C 20-50 to use as a 30-40 lb setup. I was thinking about a Sealine X 40, or the Saltist, but am tempted by the Avet MX 2-speed, in part because I couldn't decide whether to get the high speed Sealine or not.

Using Spectra, what topshot is best on the MX? Can I use 25, 30, or 40? How high can I go with the drag on that reel? I hope to make a good choice to last me for years. BTW, I have a Calcutta 400 as a 15 lb. setup, and a Sealine X 30 as a 20 lb setup. Thanks for the help!

I have 65# Spectra #30 Top on the MXL 2 speed and Straight #20 ( a little under gunnin there) on the MXL on my inshore rig. BOTH killed many Albies and Yellowfin last year no problems at all. Just make sure you preset your Drags to the line you are throwing. For #40 I use the JX
