Charkbait is selling them with 300 yards of 80# spectra and a topshot for $319... It's a sweet reel... Limited quantities.

$369 on Charkbait. Where did you find it for $319?

I have bought several Avets now through Eddy @ http://www.cabbagekeyrodandreel.com/ . He sells alot on Ebay too. VERY accommodating and friendly. I just received an Avet EX 4/02 loaded with 80# spectra and topshot of 60# of choice, delivery included for $309!!! Also just ordered an SX with 50# spectra and 20# topshot of choice with a reel skin thrown in...free delivery....$155 total!!! NOT GONNA BEAT THAT ANYWHERE!

It's the MXJ and MXL that are on sale for $319.99. You noted in your 1st post that it was the JX....they are not on sale.

I love these reels so far. I guess we can expect to have bearing problems sooner or later from all that I read about the earlier generation reels, but Avet is supposed to replace anythign that breaks since they know it's a defect.

Same price on the reel as on their regular Avet page, they are just giving you the spectra backing for free so you save 10 bucks. 10 bucks is 10 bucks though! I've been eyeing the MXL 2 speed for awhile! Nice reel.

I'm using a rod made by Pinnacle Marine. It's a 60-100# stick with roller stripper and roller tip. I bought brand new on Ebay about 2 years ago and paid just over $100 including shipping. Now I think they are starting at $125 or so. They are good quality rods for the money, but you get something in a used Calstar or similar for in the mid $100's range or so. I'm happy with the one I have for now. Eventually I'll get a better stick, but money prohibits that for now.

Ok.. gave Joey an extra 40$ and now I have the JX 6/3...

Thats right 6:1/3:1 DAMN............ can't wait to hook a big Yellowtail on this bad fucker!

Freespools like a biatch... 20# dray in low gear...

Need a rod.... looked at the 800M and Katana showed me a 30-60 GUSA don't remember the #.

Any other ideas......... The reel is spooled 65# spectra with a long topshot.. of 40# Pline...

Fish will die......

Saw you getting in your truck as I was getting out of my car at Squidco today. I knew you were out toy shopping.....me too! Picked up the Mex. boat permit and a Graftech rod for my SX.
