avet jx

hey, i just purchased an avet jx. I've fished just mono all my life, and I've done really well. But, I'm ready to try something new. About how mush spectra should I back my avet, If I'm gonna throw on 20lb test.

i got an SX with 375 of 40 J.B and a 60 top shot of #20LB

If you purchased a JX (per your post) then 20# is a little light for that reel. It's a legitimate 40 or 50# reel. You can put about 300 yards of 80# spectra on it. that would be solid spectra, and almost 100 yard topshot of 30# P-line CXX.

At least that's what I have on mine. this is the Dakine yo yo and iron chucking reel.

If your fishing 20 pound mono I see no need to put spectra unless you just want to save money over time. I got 302 yards of 30 pound P-line Xtra strong on it.

I put 400 yards of 65# spectra on the new JX/2. plan on fishing 40and 50# test.

Fill it w/ 80# spectra and put a 30M topshot of 40# florocarbon.

Like others have said.. 40-50 for the JX.... Ya got a bitchin reel work it!

my new jx will be here soon. 65# spectra and short (25 yds) 40# top shot. i can't wait to see it. should be here this week. . .

Put 300 yds of 65# Spectra on it, and top it of with 20#..30#..40# mono. Your choice. Uni2uni knots work great as a connection. JJ
