Used my mxl for the first time last week aboard the new lo-an and it performed flawlessly.I am wondering what things do I need to do to it after a trip to keep it working up to par?
If you haven't already, open it up and clean everything. Then lube the spool bearings, grease all other bearings, grease gears and all other moving parts and then a light coat of grease on all internal metal. Put it back together greasing all screws. From then on out all you need to do is rinse it off with fresh water after each outing. Maybe once a year repeat the major overhaul. Enjoy.
