This is a nice fat yellow fin tuna that I caught on my first trip to Guadalupe on the Excel on September 2, 2009. We were supposed to go to Alijos Rocks but a hurricane dissuaded us from going, so off to the Jurrassic Park known as Guadalupe. On this particular day, many fish succombed to the Tax Man but I was lucky to have my JX MC 2 speed on a Seeker Blacksteel 6470. My JX was loaded with Jerry Brown 60# with a top shot of 40# Izor XXX and Blackwater 40# floro. To hook a fish, it was vitally important to use the floro and a small hook and get the bait a LONG way from the boat. Once you did, you needed a strong rod and a 2 speed reel like the wonderful JX to get the fish back quickly. THis was my first time to use the MC reel and it does indeed work. I don't know how, but I guess that is why they call it Magic Cast. Summary:
Angler: Jon Scobey aka Outhouse
Place: Guadalupe Island
Date: September 2, 2009
Boat: Excel
Rod / Reel: Avet JX MC 2 Speed on a Factory Seeker Blacksteel 6470
Terminal Gear: Jerry Brown 60# spectra, Izor XXX 40# top shot and Blackwater 40# floro leader. Owner 3/0 Gorilla ringed hook and one lively sardine shoulder hooked
Other: Lots of luck!

Went out on 9/12/2009 with some good friends, we were just on the inside of the 302. Fishing had slowed down and we were soaking some bait past a quiet paddy. Just getting ready to reel in and call it a day and Larry got nailed. He was using a custom wrap pole with his Avet SX 5.3 MC strung with 20lb test. About 15 minutes later, he pulles in a nice 22lb Yellow Fin Tuna. Great way to end the day ( awsome reel )
PS: His first fish on the new reel

| My first BFT
Went fishing on a 2 day trip last weekend aboard the Sea Biscuit out of Channel Islands Sportfishing, Oxnard. We headed to the Cortez for Yellows, then offshore trying to look for some tuna. After a little while we came across some bluefin that wanted to bite a little. 3 bait fish caught one of which was my first bluefin ever!!! Got it on 30 pound, MXL on my b708M sabre with a 'dine 2/0 hook. I was so stoked!!!

| SX Raptor @ Rancho Leonero
Name: Mike Farris
Location: Frailes BCS, Mexico (Rancho Leonero)
Gear: Avet SX Raptor, 50#Izor spectra/30#P-line, 30# Black Water Leader,
Calstar BTG870 rod.
Date: 17 September 2009
I bit on the Charkbait weekly special a week before my Rancho Leonero trip and bought a Avet SX Raptor. At the Rancho, we fished on Pangas for 5 days. Capt Santos on the El Guapo really didnt think that I should use the little Raptor to fish for the Tuna. At the end of the day, he admitted that the little reel did well. I even let my pals Don & Guy have a turn with the Raptor, they were convinced as well. Last year, Capt Santos felt the same way about my MXJ after I C&R'd a Striper. The Yellow Fin Tuna's shown go from 41 to 52lbs when weighed at the fish cleaning station. The little Raptor preformed well all week with no problems. The amount of pressure you can put on the fish is incredible. With the Spectra and a high drag setting, line capacity is not an issue. This reel is worth the money.
