Seeker 670 for an AVET LX 4:1?

Just ordered the reel off of charkbait. 65lb. JB Spectra with topshot of Izor Blue. Need a 40 # Rod for Medium Bait...Will a 7' Seeker 670 rated 20 30 50 do it or do I need to bump it up?

Thanks...

I'd bump it up. Maybe a 6470 ?

I know it would be fishing towards the top end of the line rating, but it is a steal of a deal on this rod Im looking at. Maybe just a little more elbow grease...Thanks for the advice

i fish 30lb on my 670 and thats about pushin it, i would get something more stout for an lx...a reel like that deserves an equal rod.

I will echo what the others said. I have an MXL mounted on my 670 and it is a killer rig. I would look at the John Grabowski Blacksteel 6470.

Just got back from putting in the order for a custom wrapped Calstar 700xh from Monte at M&M. This should do the trick...Thanks for the input everyone.

700XH may be too much rod for 40# bait. Did you pull on one first?

My JX is on a 700H and it is double sweet but I think the XH would be too much rod for 40# line.

Here's the best part. With a 670 rod for 30 lb, an LX for 40 lb and a 700XH for 50 lb, you need to buy one more rod and two more reels. I like it!
