I got this nice Blue Marlin 08/15/09 about 4 miles off Los Frailes (East Cape, Mexico). The estimated 500 lb. Blue hit a Zuker 5.5 Guacamaya (Bleeding Dorado) and I took him on an Avet EX-30W with 130# hollow spectra and 80# mono topshot. After two blistering runs, she settled in for an up and down fight lasting approx. 25 minutes. For the last 15 minutes and 50 yds., I shifted to low gear and finished the fight. She surfaced belly up and expired. The meat was shared by all at Verdugo's and my kids all had marlin fish n' chips.

Haha that fish turned the tourney around for us, we were sick of getting tips and nurses and finally got a 'real' shark. chris needed it before he was going to go crazy ape sh** on someone
This is my son with his Avet silver Sx and a tasty 16# silver Salmon caught off our dock on the Kenai River in Alaska on 8/3. He had 2 break off in the fast current before landing this one. It was really good as we had it with some fresh Halibut. Best Sushi you can have is what you catch! Wish I had a Photo of him fishing for Halibut & Lingcod in July with his blue SX, but we forgot the camera.... The looks he got with it were PRICELESS!!!!!!

I would hope that anyone who eats their own salmon sushi freezes it first. If not, then they are liable to get the worst case of parasite poisoning ever, would be like Montezuma's revenge times 100. Wanna die ?
My 13 year old Son Joseph caught this Yellow Fin Tuna 5 miles north of the Hidden Bank on 8/30/09 using my sx 2 speed on a calstar 700ML. I keep telling him he needs to get his own. Maybe he will.
