I should be getting mine about the same time Rex. I am going with 60 lb hollow for the line capacity and use Berkley hi-Test 40 lb as the top shot. It has the same diameter as regular 40 lb test mono but consistantly breaks around 60 lbs. I am out for the kill....100 lb tuna is a start. Go BIG or Go Home!

The floating drag plate design is exactly like the older Diawa Sealine SLD20/30 II except reversed.--The Avets fibre drag washer is a metal plate on the Diawas and the two metal drag plates on the Avets are metal plates with carbon fibre on one side on the Diawas.

My "guess" is the JX will cost $469.99, but that's just a guess.

Well, I didn't get lucky. Harry put my reel together, late last night, and it's going out FEDX at 3:30 PM today. So, Monday it'll be at my door. It"s the first "production" SX 6/4 MCR. I'll have to go back to The Longfin on Mon. and use their line counter, to find out how much spectra/line it actually holds. I wind it very tight, so who knows, maybe I'll get 475 yards total.
I guess that means the rest of the production reels go out next week?

Well, at about noon, FEDX showed up with a box. Guess it got shipped early yesterday. SX 6/4 MCR, Serial#00017, first production Raptor.
Tried all kinds of spectra, and ended up with 350 yards of 50# Izor, and 100 yards of 30# mono. Not as much as I thought it would hold, but later I'll try 60# JB hollow.

I had forgotten what a PITA, it is to work on such tiny reels. Need 20X magnification, high intensity lamps, and some precision tools, real precision tools, like a gunsmith set. You better have a really good RX set of glasses too. So, my disassembly/re-assembly, resulted in screwing up the shifter cover screws, spring pin, and release arm spring. Also lost another slider ball bearing. I had some spare parts and got it all back together again.
Put on the JX handle, nice modification, with all that drag, extra leverage is good.
Really tired of stripping and re-winding spectra. But, 300 yards of 60# JB hollow, with a topshot of 50 yards of 30# mono, seems to be optimum. I'm done fooling with this thing, for now.
[600 yards of JB 60# hollow is $79.99]
