If they ever get their reel feet to fit the Fuji PSS reel seat, I would be all over these!!! It would make a great jigging reel for cod, tuna, etc, and be able to handle the heavier braids and heavier drag settings we use on the East Coast!

I was just about to drop tha hammer and buy a MXJ 2 speed but it looks like the new raptor sx is gonna take its place. Priced at 439 its cheaper than the 197 and probably weigs less. I cannot wait for them to drop the new line!

I had forgotten all about the JX, my all time favorite size reel. A JX Raptor with a "new" GUSA/United 8 foot jig stick. A superb 40# outfit. Make that 3 new Raptors.

I just have one question.... Why are you guys changing what is working ?? | Profits of course! When sales taper off due to market saturation you come out with the new and improved version, you can count on it every 12-18 months.

Its called evolution....
The glued drag.......1 bad salt intrusion photo spread all over the web.
MC......too many damn complaints about the free spool on the Avet reels.
Raptor......bitchin and whinning about side loads and not enough drag.
$439.00.....for a little piece of perfection...................priceless!

Interesting. Are they trying to patent "a friction plate with drag plates on each side"?

is this new line of raptors going to replace Avets old line of reels? So many arguments in favor of avet have been price based and i think only offering reels in the price range closer to accurate may turn some off.....
personally i think what your getting in the SX raptor is well well worth the money, but thats the tackle ho inside |
