KW,
Where did you get that bitchin color combo? Is that a black w/gold (bronze?) trim or an artifact of the photo? Looks great. Let us know how you plan to set it up and give us a report on performance when you get a chance to use it.

Actually it just the poor light quality of the photo, its blue. I will take some better photos soon.
I had planned on taking it with me to key west this past week for some tarpon and permit fishing but it didnt arrive in time. Had a blast anyway.
I will be ordering a new seeker this week for it. B...

I went to high school in Florida, Manatee H.S. in Bradenton. Seems odd to see someone in Florida, with a Raptor? We used to catch snook, tarpon, kingfish, redfish, and occasionally a tuna, sailfish, or mako shark. Also barricuda.

I fish everywhere for everything, and so far avets have fit my fishing style perfect.
Southern florida is definetly a fishermans paradise. We only got one shark this trip missed several barricuda got a nice tarpon, and one mean permit and some smaller ones jacks etc..

11 more days to wait, and it seems like "forever". A 6-day trip is going to cost $2500.00, and that seems like a lot, considering I went on a 17-day for $2500.00 in 1992? Another $2000.00 for new tackle, and it seems like it's getting prohibitively expensive these days. Guess I'll feel better about the cost, after I catch a few fish.

I've got a 700MH...it's a fantastic 40# bait stick...I use it for yo-yo, too.

One more week till Raptor tryouts, and Indy caught Wahoo yesterday. Nothing coming to change the weather, so maybe we'll have a shot at some Wahoo, on 10-4? It would be great to catch a Wahoo on bait, jig, or trolling!!! Most fun I ever had was a 76# hoo, on 30# line, with bait. Haven't caught Wahoo since 2006.

| Rancho Leonero trip, new SX Raptor
I see the Charkbait Weekly Special with the new Avet Raptor reel. The hook was set and I ordered one with 50# Izorline & a top of 30# P-line. At Rancho Leonero, our Panga Capt Santos isnt sure that I should be using the little Raptor for the Yellowfin down at Frailes. We got 3 Yellow Fin Tuna on the Raptor (with a Calstar BTG870) weighing 52, 44 and 41lbs when weighed at the fish cleaning station. That reel & rod combo had no problem handling the fish! Even Capt Santos became a believer. In short, the reel lives up to the hype.... Is it worth $439??? You betcha!
