Avet expert: Differences between generations

Hi,

I have recently acquired a few 2-speed Avets and have learned that there are a good and bad generations of these Avets. Can someone here please educate me the differnces/improvements between each generations of Avets? How can I tell which generation avet I currently own?

Thanks in advance.
Sheki

From what i've seen so far.. I call them gen 2.5's... Generation 2 reels with some of the changes that came in the current generation reels... The change from the straight crank arm to the design pictured is a clue of that... They also still have the torpedo handles... Good reels... They have the silent anti reverse... I never really had any problems with the reels of this generation I owned..

I dont have the reel with me at the moment to take pictures...but the LX has the rounded left side plate with the laser engraved Avet logo and tuna and clicker on top. the whole frame/left side plate unit looks identical to the current generation of avets
