What reel for 700h?

I have a 700H that I want to use for some jigging but mostly live bait fishing for yellowfin up to 75lbs. Will be using 50lb test line.

JX 6/3 or LX 6/3.

Personally I fish a JX 6/3 on a 700m and an LX 6/3 on a 700h but either reel will fish either rod.

Avet HX on my 700H, I use 300 yds of 80# Spectra topped with either #50 or 60# mono.

Let me just say right off that I don't own a Hoo-X...yet. However, I think that it is overkill for 50#. You can easily fish 50# on a JX or LX 2 speed and save yourself a bit of cabbage.

Not saying it's a bad reel or a bad choice just that you could get by a little cheaper if that's important.

I HAVE been eyeballing one for a 60# bait stick though

HX standard or HXJ for 50 to 60 lb line class. I am pretty conservative and consider the JX and LX to be excellent 30 to 40 lb class reels.

Personally I would throw an 870 or now the 500 on it and call it a day.
