Old Avet LX anti reverse

I have an old blue avet LX (the kind with 2 screws on the side plate and the plastic strike button) I opened it up to grease the drag (which after a hundred fish still looks great) and I noticed something... this reel only has a single dog anti reverse system? I can't say that I know if the newer ones have double... I have been using 40lb mono on this reel and it works great, never an issue, just thought they had double dogs?

This is, by the way, the simplest reel to take apart, there's almost not enough parts to make it work, great engineering.

The new ones have a single anti-reverse dog as well but a much better (and almost silent) one. I have seen no problems with the AR on the new LX's but saw quite a few on the old ones, especially those with 6 to 1 gears. If you call Avet they should send you a slightly stronger AR dog spring that will reduce the chance of an AR failure.

I have the same reel, but in a JX. Single dog. I have an MXJ single and it has the double. The double dogs are clikity.
