Wrong nuts?

Just put my new LX 6/3 reel on a Avet SX700 rod and the reel clamp nuts only grab the studs by about 2 1/2 turns. Did I get the wrong studs, nuts, clamp or what?
Do I need to purchase a reel clamp that will work? I hope that is not the case considering what I spent on the reel.
My pro EX has a different clamp bridge with longer nuts and a place to hold a hook or safety strap, this looks like the one I need.

The LX does not come with the same clamp as the EX series. You got the right clamp. Just call the factory and tell them your problem. They will send you longer bolts, (most likely at no charge). If you call them early enough I would bet money they will ship today.

Same thing happened on my JX. They pissed me off though because I had to send the bolts I got before they would send replacements. Fortunately, I wasn't in a hurry or it would have been a real problem.

That is a huge gap. Are you sure that is not a trolling rod?

Yea, I don't know if Avet actually makes them, but the rod has Avet's name on it. It was a gift, and I think it was purchased at Bass Pro.

I called Avet regarding the reel clamp and they are going to send the right parts when they return my Pro EX after service.
