I vote for the SX. I think the MXJ is more like a 25-30lb reel.
The SX loaded to the rim with spectra and short topshots of 20# fishes really well and you really shouldn't fish a rod at the top of it's line rating so I would not fish 25lb on your 15-25lb Rainshadow.
Of course, that is if you are using it for bait. If you are throwing light irons, I'd go with the MXJ or MXL.
If you are throwing plastics for Calicos, I'd stay away from a lever drag and get a calcutta 300 or 400.
Basically I am saying we need more info on what type of fishing you are doing with it.

I'd go with the SX. Load with 300 yds of 50# spectra and top with whatever is appropriate for the trip. The MXJ is a little narrower than the SX but is bigger in diameter. Both have same drags so it really comes down to which feels better to you on that rod.

SX. Same drag, and with spectra backing, the line capacity doesn't matter as much as total weight, spool inertia, etc.

SX. I have 2 older ones and 2 newer ones and they just plain kick butt. Load with 50# braid and then top with your preference of line and your good to go. The newer ones have the reel clamp and that is nice. My SX 6/4 will be working large King Salmon this season, hoping for a 75+#r on it.
Enjoy and happy fishing.

both are so dinky they look the same to be. I personally have the MXL6/4, its the wider reel, but its not very wide at all. Its a good little reel. I also have an SX2, both are really nice. You could go with any of the three, its your call.
