Casting reel for popping tuna

I'm sure this thread is out there somewhere but I couldn't find it.

What reel would you guy's go with for casting poppers/jigs for tuna, cubera's, roosters, etc.? I'm looking for a reel that is not too big in hand, and probably running 65 or 80# braid. I'm going to Panama and want at least one of my own rigs. Not real sure on the connections I have once down there.

Also, what rod would you pair with the reel?

Thanks for any info. If there are any must have other accessories, lures, etc. I'd appreciate any input.

I was facing the same question but have found "my" solution - which will hopefully prove a decent one.

Target area will be the Maldives in 8 weeks.

I opted for a JX6/3 with 65# line and a MXJ6/4 with 40# line. Both are equipped with MC frames, slightly stepped up drags and female cams without Bait-Stop.

The rod is a 8-foot custom made and works like a dream - - on dry land. Both reels, outcast a Saltiga Z Exp. with 65# line and with the same lure.

@x-star
To raise the drag a bit (my fellows told me the GTs on the reefs are mean), I took some dynamic out of the pack of belleville washers by realigning them (reduced the number of () - configurations an substituted them with (()) ) You need to try a bit to get what you like, and you have to be aware that this may yield a rather steep drag curve and may cause higher binding and premature damage to the drag bearing.

To offset the incline of the drag curve, I replaced the standard female cam with one that does not have a notch for the "Bait" position. This gives about 15° more lever action, omitting the unneeded "Bait" and going from free to strike in one smooth move.

Avet has them (the cams), but does not spread the word unless you ask ....

I hope this will function with a fish on ... and not only in dry testing.
