WHAT HE SAID IT REALLY DEPENDS ON HOW YOU ARE GOING ABOUT FISHING FOR THEM I LIKE THE 50 SIZE WHEN IM SOLO CAUSE IT GIVES ME TIME TO PULL IN THE OTHER LINES AND THE DOWNRIGGERS BUT FOR MOST SHARKS EVEN BIG ONES A 30N WILL BE MORE THAN ENOUGH

Both are great for shark. You can fit alot longer mono topshot on the 50W, which is good for trolling, if you do any. I have a 2 of both. I use the 2 50w to troll also so I have them on the heavier rods. If I had enough money I would go with a set of 30s and 50s.

You would be fine with the Pro30. You can get two of them almost for the price of the T-REX

i have one each of the 30w and a standard 50, and i perfer the 50 way better, has a lower low gear. much easier to wench them in, holds more line, and i dont like wide reels anymore. the only time you need a 30 or a 50 for sharks is when your trolling for threshers imo. with makos you can sight fish them and anything under 120# or so can be handled by a saltist 50 and it makes it way more fun. i've never caught a large mako, but the ones up to 120# or so seem to be a pretty pussy ass fish.
