avet for 80 and 100lb

i mostly got everything covered from 15 to 60 lb. i will be doing a couple of longrange trips next year and pretty much need recomendations on the heavier stuff. was thinkin about a 30/2 for 80 lb and a sds for 100lb. am i on the right track? also what rods would complement these fish killing tools? what setups are you currently using? starting to plan now for next year.

thanks

Danny

You should be styling with those two reels. 80 lb 6ft XXH I prefer Calstar but plenty of other good sticks out there also. 100 lb 51/2 ft XXXH again I prefer Calstar.

That's what I'd do but put 100lb Spectra on the EX30 and 130lb Spectra on your SDS. My SDS's have 15'-20' of 200lb (with a loop spliced on the end to attach it to the reel) on spool end of the 130lb Spectra and 50yds of 200lb Spectra on the other end.

My EX 30 is on a Seeker 6363XXH and the SDS's are on a 6463XXXH and a 6455XXXH.

I think the LX and HX will do fine. I've caught 80 lb tuna on an MXL. Your choices will work fine, then have them for other duty too but an HX casts great. A good 100# rod, Calstar 700xh no rollers.
