Avet 50 SDS line capacity

I think I will load my new SDS with JB hollow 135. Will an entire spool of 600Y fit? I like a substantial topshot (50-100Y) of 80# mono too.

Thanks

Hey, were you on the Indy last Aug?
I don't have an SDS, but I did sleep at a holiday in express last night...
My Pro30@ takes about 450 yards or so and leaves me about 3/16 inch of spool left for topshots. I'd guess you'd eat up about 550 or so.

Yes it will take 700 yds of 130# with room for a 100 yd topshot of 80#.

Thanks I will buy a 600Y spool of JB hollow. That will leave me room for 80, 100 and larger when I get to go on a big trip in 2010.

Accurate's website has a line calculator. You can use it to get pretty close to how many yards of spectra and mono you can put on the reel. I was wondering about my Baja Special last year and guesstimated using this pretty closely to what actually happened. You have to play with it a bit and if you need help, I think I can figure out how I did it. There will be some differences becasue not all line is uniform in size, but I bet I was within 5%.
