I love my AVETs My next purchase is a two speed. The people who try them buy them. The company just doesn't have the money for advertising like the larger manufacturers. They in my opinion are some of the best deals on the market for what you get.

I dont own any of the Avets but have fished some on a tackle store charter.Everything seems pretty smooth and solid with them, except I didnt like the little knob for the clicker. It was kind of difficult getting the reel out of clicker mode.Diawa also has a tournament 2 speed at a pretty attractive price. The shimano TLD 30 is a good real, but I have seen the graphite frame brake at the reel seat.

Gotta agree with you on the clicker size, but to take the clicker off just start cranking. It's 'Auto-Off'.

Might be a place to keep some corrision x sprayed.I know remember that with the clicker but they needed help getting them off on the one i used.It was a bitch to keep some pressure off the spool while you turned the clicker lever forward to release the clicker.Beside that they were pretty nice and the freespool seemed nice for a lever drag.

Yep, a good place for Corrosion X. I've found that it's more the salt crystals packed in there, rather than any corrosion. We serviced two boat reels on our last 10 day that the crew mistakenly thought could be rinsed off in the bait tank at the end of the day. Both reels were bound up tighter than a frogs ass. Tore them down, scooped out the salt, re-lubed everything, and they ran like new. And there wasn't a bit of corrosion anywhere on the inside.... Sea Salt...anyone??
