I'll bite....
That no one has gotten back to you in days is horrible customer service, especially if you've called and emailed several times. If they can't or won't accomodate you, they know this and should just tell you to fuck off. If they could accomodate you but are just too busy right now, they should have one of their admin assistants shoot you off an email. It would take less than 5 minutes to deal with this in an acceptable way (either tell you to piss off or let you know that they are aware of your request and they'll follow up with you when they have some time).
Frankly, the comparison to Shimano is a strawman. First of all, Shimano reels are not manufactured in the SF valley. They are made overseas. Second of all, they are NOT a U.S. company. And, most importantly, shimano doesn't manufacture trinidads in multiple colors.
Avet alreadys MAKES blue, silver and red reels. They wouldn't have to do anything extraordinary to fulfill this request except pull parts from the three color bins and assemble them. It's likely that parts (spool, frame, handle) are all manufactured separately and not as a (single reel) unit and are just assembled from bins.
And, the fact that they've done special production runs of multi color reels (e.g. chargers, raiders colors) sets a precedence for this.
Having said all of that, shit happens. I've had similar experiences with other business that are highly recommended by everyone and multiple attempts to contact them have been met by silence. I figure there's no point in throwing a temper tantrum, I'll just spend my money elsewhere. Nothing speaks louder than your wallet.

Fishstalker.
Please dont construe my comments with a Temper Tantrum. IF you recall, I was done with this...I wasnt or currently mad at Avet. I STATED I WOULD LOOK TO THERE COMPETITORS,,with my wallet.
I will most likely buy Avet products in the future... I own 3- 4/02 W, 1 SX, and I MXL or MXJ......I think the 4/02W was the best value on the market.
The emotions that you are referring to. Are directed at the people who made comment on my actions/statements. All I have done is defend/clarify my first two post/statements.
I have no vendetta against AVET. Like you, I thought it would be a fairly simple request to assemble a few parts together in different colors...hell I would have paid for the parts to assemble on one of the reels I already own...
Im just bringing the fact that I thought the Customer Service in this situation is not adequate. Then I start getting questioned. The more I answered, the more I got.
The longer it goes on, the more damage it can do to Avet...Which is NOT MY GOAL...
If anyone wants more info on this Please PM me...
If you ask questions on this thread, I will respond...Remember, Dont ask the question if you dont want to hear the answer.

Why don't you just go there in person? It seems like you have enough time to vent about it. Don't be a cry baby, just take another route. They would probably respond quicker if you were making an order for 100 reels but you just want one. Like Jason said, about 240 hours is about right for a call back on a request like yours. After reading your vent, I would penalize you two more days for the call back and tell you to pound sand. There are companies that do custom reel anodizing. Have you thought of that Einstien? Check out CustomizingReels. They would do your request. Buy a red or blue Avet and send it to them and tell them what you want. If you want a single specialty item don't go to the manufacture, go to some one who will do the job you want. It's like asking Calstar or Seeker to make you a single custom rod, you would have a better chance getting a BJ from a mermaid. Complaining about them will not help either. THESE ARE A FEW OF THOUSANDS OF REELS ENGRAVED ON .THINK ANY WOULD LOOK BETTER OR THEIR OWNERS WOULD LIKE THEM MORE WITHOUT THE ENGRAVING???? DIDN'T THINK SO. WE WOULD LOVE TO WORK FOR YOU!!
WE WILL SOON BE POSTING MANY STOCK DESIGNS FOR YOU TO CHOSE FROM.
ALL WILL BE SHOWN ON INTERNATIONAL'S SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN ORDERING. THE COST FOR ALL OUT STOCK IMAGES ARE 80.00 PER REEL.. YOUR SIMPLE LOGO'S RANGE FROM 180.00 FOR THE FIRST REEL AND 80.00 EACH REEL AFTER THAT. COMPLICATED ARTWORK WILL BE QUOTED FIRST.
PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER WE WILL ENGRAVE ANYTHING YOU WISH ON ANYTHING YOU WISH..
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY AND FEEL FREE TO CALL ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON..

Wow what a thread. I deal with Avet all the time since I am one of their dealers and they have unbelievable service! Eliza always goes the extra mile for dealers and their customers. I had a customer need a part which wasnt a neccessity, wanted to change the black foot out to match the color and she sent him 1 on the house.
PM me your contact info and I can get someone in contact with you. |

Hi Bryan
Since you don't need this special color reel till next Fred Hall, there should not be any problem on making it for you. I suggest a HXJ5/2 for your 10ft Harnell. You can also use a LX 6/3 too. Give me a call and I will get all your information. My Office number is 310 329-0022 cell phone is 310 713-3383.
hope I'll be hearing from you soon

If this is a Avet Support Forum when do they support it. 96 hrs and counting????
Remember the only reason I am debating this is about Customer Service issues and what Customer Service is considered to be acceptable. | I apologize if you haven't received a return call from Avet Reels. Sometimes they are so busy and they forget to return call. This is no excuse for our screwup by not returning your call. Please accept our apology. For you and any Bloodydeck members
that have to get in touch of Avet, I have always posted my office, cell phone and email address for everybody to see. Please give me a call.
