Avet Contest Rules

The reel has to be in the picture!!!!!!
We have final say.

NO PHOTO TOUCH UP!

Format of entering contest.

Picture/Pictures
Name:
Location of fish caught:
Gear used:
Date:

A members kid with a good fish and an avet can win. We have had a couple of kids win in the past. I don't see a problem with giving to the future of the sport.

The reel must be in the picture. The reel must also be held by the angler. There may be a reason you can't hold the rod and reel (enormous fish, etc) and we'll judge those as they come in. If you want to guarantee yourself a chance then hold the reel in your hand. I haven't been doing a great job of deleting the posts without the reel but I will be more vigilant. No reel in the picture and you're gone. Reels in the rodholders go to the bottom of the list for judging.

I'm 50/50 on guides submitting pictures for anglers. I'm going to talk to others and we'll come up with the answer. I'm more inclined to be ok with it if the person in the picture is a BD member. If they are not a BD member then no, the picture will not count. Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch there is a big difference between a members kid with a fish and a guide and his customer.

See this picture for how it should be done:

It will count but picture quality is taken into consideration when judging a winner. You could have an awesome fish in the picture but if the picture is poor quality it does count against you.

It varies depending on where you are. We try to get the reels out as soon as we get the information from the winner.

I think the reel should be yours, significant other, dad, kid, ect.. Not a charter/sport boat loaner reel.
