HX or HXJ?

Looking to get an HX for a 50# set up. I like the narrow version but wanted to know if the line capacity will be too limited with that model. I imagine the HX will give me a little more veristility. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.

HXJ is for vertical jigging or surface iron. Otherwise, go with the HX.

If you can only get one get the HX. More versital and greater line capacity. I love my HX great reel. That being said I purchased a J series a couple of weeks ago to take to Alijos rocks in a couple of weeks to try strictly for jigging. When I get back I will post a report on how it did. If you stick the two reels side by side with no line in them the spool for the J look tiny.I ended up putting JB 65 hollow spectra if I remember correctly it ended up being around 375 to 400 yds, and 25 yds of 50lb seagur floro as the top shot on the J. Used Swifty's new Appexx Uni-Link rather that a serve. With the narrow spool it should be a great jigging reel.

Upon further review, I think the HX will be the ticket; I want a set up that will handle bait as well. Thanks.

I have the HX on a 700M used it last summer on a 5 day, killer outfit. 125lb tuna no problem!!!
