Fantastic pictures and by far one of the most different and awesome post/report. Thanks
Hi Blackfish!

These fish here would be worth BIg $$$ on the black market. Very beautiful infack so beautiful i coulnt kill it.
I took this picture to show a girl i know in Russia. She was amaised that such colourful fish exist. I knew she and other girls would ask the question " did ya kill it?" so i threw it back and im sure its still alive as we speak

That is a unusual rig...three hooks, connected through the eye?

We call this rig a "gang hook rig"

We use bait called "mulie" Its a small fish like a large sardnine and we thread the gang hooks on starting fron the tail to the eye of the bait so if a fish comes up from behind and chomps it it will find the hook

Didnt get to fish due to me slipping over on the rocks smashing my knee right into the rocks hurt my wrist anf cut a few fingers

Damaged my penn8500ss , bent the handle and now it hits the bail arm and scratched my old school ugly stick :crybabies:
Laying here right now very sore all over.
I really wanted to try out them gulp worms etc that Cuda sent me.

Im going again tomorrow , i dont care about the pain... I must fish lol!

Re: Some of my best captures

Great posts & photos Marc! Awesome to see the action from the other side of the world.

About those cliff gaffs- are those things for sale down there or are they custom made? I've heard some guys in Hawaii talking about using a similar or maybe the same type of device on big marlin that die down deep in thermocline. No way to get them up unless you can sink a second line into them.

How much weight could you lift with the device before it would bend/break?

Hi Aleta!
Thankyou for the complaments

Yep those cliff gaffs are forsale here in australia.
My uncle makes his homemade with thicker and stronger stainless steel.
We have lifted up 200kg+ sharks up the side of the cliffs.
You should be able to lift bigger with more men on the rope pulling
Usually the 3 gaff hooks will never bend because of the strength.

Here is a link to a aussie shop here in Perth that sells them.....

Cliff or Pier Gaff Large : Campbells

That is a pretty good one but if you got this one and make one same specs but with good stainless steel, it would be more than enough to do the job

Re: Some of my best captures

I must thank Cuda/Hoo_Killer for sending me "gulp worms" to try downunder!!!!!

I had a gang hook set up and threaded on 3 gulp worms and look at the result!

7kg Australian Salmon!!!
Very different to the salmon that you have over there but still a wicked fish to catch!!!

Thanks again for sending them to me to try! I hooked many more but they kept snapping me off!
Lots of fellow Ausie fisherman have seen the "bloodydecks.com on my tackle box and have gone home to view the site!!!!

Thanks again

Marc
