Re: Some of my best captures

Thanks heeps for the compliments guys

I got told a rumer that there is a location in the river that runs through our city of baby samson fish!
Not sure if you get them over your way but here they get to 50kg+!!!!!!

I have never heard of samson fish (sambo's)in our river!!!

So i went down yesterday for a look and yep sure enough first cast as i was reeling in i seen about5 baby sambo's following my bait in.

1 hour me and my mate Kristian must of caught about 25. We released them all to grow and become 50kg + fish!

My theory is that the bigger ones must come into the river to breed lay eggs so the babys have protection and time to grow in the river before heading out to sea to grow massive.
Great fun to catch! Really strong for there size!

Here are some pics from yesterday...

Re: Some of my best captures

I went out for a fish yesterday down fremantle harbour.

Put out some big baits but had no strikes

While the big baits were out i was using my little wippy rod with 8 pound line. Had it sitting out there for a while then felt a slow pull on the line. I struck! Then as i was pulling it in i seen that it was a lovley blue manna crab!

These crabs are really great to eat.
This crab was psyco! I coulnt go near the esky without it trying to stick its claws out and try to nip me!

Heres tha pic...

Re: Some of my best captures

Some good fishing around Kalbarri. I grew up in Geraldton so use to get up and fish it a bit. Jewies off the beach was the highlight.

Some good jacks and mudcrabs around the fishermans jetty too.
