Wow Marc what awesome pictures and report! I have fished from Melbourne to the Whitsundays and have found Hervey Bay to be good.
Will be moving there from California in a few years. My husband is Australian. We have been talking about coming to see Perth. Keep the pictures and reports coming! Debbie

I was told be a fellow fisherman that Bonito must be cooked same day because they dont freeze well but eaten the same day they are great![/quote]

Bleed them right away, ice them right away...they make good sashimi...that's about the only way i will eat them...even after properly handled, they are to strong tasting of a fish for me when cooked. Cool pics....nice to see one of our local fish way out your way.

Re: Some of my best captures

this thread is f'in great. there's alot of equipment i've never seen before, like the 3 hook setup and the cliff gaff. those would be so usefull for pier fisherman that hook into somthing huge. my buddy in NZ was just telling me about handline fishing, and how people are still way into it over there. that and those alvey reels that the head pivots to cast. super interesting stuff.

and i love that bonito, cooked or sushi. bleed it and eat it.

Hi Andy!

I will do a thread in the next week on the Australian fishing style with some of the fishing ideas we use. Im sure the gang hook (multipul hook) idea will work magic for youz! Im very suprised that its not used very much in the states.

I catch most my fish on the "ganged hook" rig

I will also post good pics of "Cliff gaff" and how to use it and make it.

Hopefully these ideas will give you all some new stuff to try

Cheers

Marc
