Sydney to the Great Barrier

Hi Guys,

I leave for Australia on Saturday where i will be spending 2.5 weeks surfing and fishing up the coast from Sydney to the Gold Coast and then on to the southern tip of the great barrier reef.

I will be bringing several jigs and gulp baits along with a 12' surf rod, 8' stick for smaller jigs and a small spinning rod.

Can you guys give me any tips on what i should be doing off the rocks and the beach?

Any help would be great.

Zululander out.

Re: Sydney to the Great Barrier

I lived down in Cairns, QLD a few years back. Surfs going to be small in thier summer unless you have a cyclone come threw and hit the Goldie. Fishing should be really good this time of year though. As for surf, give New Castle, Coffs Harbor, Byron Bay, and ofcoarse Burlieghs knob and Surfers Paradise a go. FYI when they refer to king fish thier yellow tail for us yanks. Cheers!
