Back from Phuket! @ big Sails!

It was a great trip, Left the harbor at 9am, was on the water for a few hours and trolling for tuna, Got some small ones. Around lunch time is when it all started to happen. 2 Nice ones! Got to go back sometime soon!

I fished Phuket last year around this time...AWESOME trip. Great job on the sails. Which boat and crew did you take out?

Actually didn't have a chance to do anyother fishing but i will have to look it up, Splitfish, hmmm sounds interesting. Oh yeah, the boat was a local boat with an all native crew of 2, Nice guys and they worked hard for the fish! Water was calm out and back. I think i want to try maybe a 3 day next time. Got some nice islands there. Well take care guys

Did you release the fish after taking the photos? The sailfish population is rapidly decreasing due to over-fishing and sportsmen not releasing them. There used to be a school of sailfish down on Ko Adang that was massive. It was not usual to see dozens of fish leaping out of the water at a time... then they had a fishing tournament. Now, you're lucky if you see one fish. Well, that, and the fact that trawlers come in national park waters and grab all of the fish in one swoop.
