Well I got a rude awakening at midnight on thursday from the next set of clients..guy's I work with in the city...that were coming up to Hardy...never a dull moment up here.
"we might not have enough gas "...oh oh I said to Glenn...just keep driving and I'll head towards you with a can of gas I said!
I was wondering what the boy's were thinking not fueling up in Campbell River but nows not the time to bitch...just help them out.
As it turned out they made it just fine but I got to bed at 1

oam friday and up at 3:30am to make the lunches and prep my bait.
I can only say that having clients that are also buddies is heaven from a guides view and I was truely happy that Glenn, Alan and Chris were up for three days....
I ran out early and was happy to see my little spot was all to ourselves for the most part and backed off the throttle...glass calm and foggy...just the way I like it.
The boy's drew straws for the order of fish and not five minutes into our first pass...wham...fish on and he's moving hard for the kelp....Glenn's up and he's having trouble holding him as the longstone sreams...it's game on I say to myself!
The fish ends up in the high 20's...not bad to start with .
I drop the gear down again and maybe ten minutes later...whack...another nook pops the clip chris is on the fish....as I pop the other rod out of the clip...boom...double header and Alan's on the fish.
Both guy's do well with handling their fish and they come to the net quite easily per say and we are 3 for 3....I can't be happier.
Next fish goes ape shit not more than a half hour later and Glenn's up again.
Glenn hasn't played to many fish over the last few years and let's just say this fish almost got the best of him.
We trolled for about an hour and a half and the next fish pop's the clip and Chris is up.
I can only say that up here we use single action reels and you best keep your nuckles clear when Big Mama makes her run.
This fish is hell bent and I realize there is blood all over Chris and the reel...and his nuckles are not just skinned....their pretty busted up and the fish knows nothing about this nor does it care.
Chris battles hard and finally the fish makes his way to the net.....Chris sit's down and say's" now that hurts but wow what a fight"...I couldn't help but grin...
The rest of the morning was filled with more kings and we were tagged out by noon...we went 8 for 9 and the fish ranged from16 to 32lbs...not a bad days fishing at all.
Tommorrow it's butt fishing time...a little easier on the nuckles!
