Bermuda Fishing Report June Part 2...
JUNE Fishing continues to be RED HOT..!!!..

My apologies for the delay updating the fishing reports, but as you’ll see the fish have kept us extremely busy! What else could we ask for…Yellowfin Tuna in both quality and quantity…Wahoo continue to please; on the troll, live baiting and in the chum…and Grander Blue Marlin.

The ‘Wound Up’ continues her roll with fantastic fishing, happy clients and great times… our fishing adventures from the 5th through the 12th of June began with consistent Wahoo catches in the teens taken on the regular troll and live baiting....we followed up a sweet live baiting day with Susan Wilson and Saul Froomkin with another great Wahoo catch w/ the sisters from Newfoundland….the girls put the hurt on both the Wahoo population and a liter of Grey Goose... Canadian Women + Vodka = Great Memories!!! Thanks Ladies...

With the bait cooler loaded and ready for battle, we trolled through the previous day’s hot spot without a bite. Shocked, Jim and I made a quick decision to fire the anchor down ahead of the approaching fly-fishing boats… and what a great decision it was. In an hour and a half we caught 5 Yellowfin, a dozen Almaco jacks and 2 Wahoo that weighed over 400 lb... The anchor was up by noon and home we headed with Pink Floyd fired up on the stereo and the cold Heinekens quenching our anglers thirsts.

The breeze kept us ashore for the weekend for some much needed boat, tackle and family maintenance. We were back at it on Monday with Kevin Hovi, Johnny Ringold and crew… a little due diligence over the weekend saw us steaming straight to Argus (w/ no complaints from Miles Fuel Station). Down goes the anchor and 2 of the first 3 baits get traded in for Yellowfin Tuna…. Like the previous trip chumming it was all over by 11 am. After the dust settled our tally for the day was 19 Yellowfin, 1 Blackfin and a mix of Almaco jacks and Rainbow Runners……A great way to start the week and fine piece of teamwork by both charter and crew! Thanks guys… it was a pleasure!

June 12th saw us attempting to repeat our Tuna performance from the day before only to find 4 other boats already on the spot and conditions quite different from the day before. What are we going to do now?? We had both of the ‘Wound Up’s’ mates aboard today, Jim West and Stefan Olson, our good friend and regular Ken and Danny Fox of ‘Dansar’ fame…way too muck talent aboard to go home with a blank! After quite a bit of scouting and a lot of hard work, plan #6 finally paid off with a respectable haul of a few quality Almaco Jacks, 9 Wahoo on live baits and a pair of Yellowfin, including Ken’s fine 75lber…..

The story of the day and by far Catch of the Week goes to the ‘Big Game’. Captain Charles and crew weighed the first Grander Blue Marlin of the season that tipped an IGFA certified scale at exactly 1,000 lb. Congratulations to team from the ‘Big Game’… the second Grander caught by a visiting boat from the Carolinas... Pretty Work!!

Nothing a nice pink cock-ring wouldn't fix.

Never fails to 'tease 'em into the spread'
