I thought you moved to Alaska to get away from people! The crowds there are just as bad at the local fishing spots!

Although. For a female that is the perfect spot to husband shop. Hop in a tube up river and float down between them all. I'm sure they would be very happy.

I visit AK once or twice per year for work. This time of year is really special. Nothing like working from 8-5, go to dinner, have a few drinks....and then walk to Ship creek to fish from 9-12 at "night". Although not the most picturesque of fishing holes (in the heart of Anchorage), once you hoookup it doesn't matter!

What always amazed me is when the fish are running thick the combat fishing - shoulder to shoulder - is a sight to behold.

Heading up there next week for a little work and three days of play
Ninilchik hali fishing and Kasilov River drift fishing via Afishnunt Charters and some stream fishing on the Kenai....as well as Ship Creek before and after work the first day

What's running in Ship Creek this time of year?

Anglette: My Alaskan-Hawaiian buddies who work at Elmendorf AFB have invited me to fish the Russian River for Salmon on Friday, 6/17 and Ninilchik/Homer for Halibut the next day. Given the limited time I doubt I'll hit Ship Creek. Thursday -work @ EAFB, dinner, drinks, then drive down to the Russian in the evening, then drink more. Will post my updates when I return. Thanks for the invite!

So you were up Ship Creek??? Paddle or no paddle?

All kidding aside, it looks beautiful up there!!!! Are there all kinds of different bites going on when it's light all the time?
