I need to add more as I remember...

When that fish hit my line, there was an explosion in my elbow... The freaking insane power of this fish took me by surprise.
As he took flight and showed himself...I was in awe... Beautiful - Powerful and full of a whole lot of attitude -This is my style of fish challenge :yes

I am headed back as soon as I get the elbow checked out and fixed :grvn
I will also take my own gear... I was not familiar on how to use a spinning reel...

Oh yeah... I did catch the most bait fish They were cute little pin fish...Sharp fuckers

Shelly - yea did an awesome job describing the weekend of fish'n.. Had a blast! Looking forward to the next two fish-offs!
Just to reiterate the score to date:
Tracy -1 Shelly - 0

Those Tarpon are one hell of a fight, a recommend in my book to fish for! Not only do they fight hard, they put on an awesome show!

Ill give yea this Shelly, when it comes to catching the bait, you did do a hell of a job ;-) As for the Tarpon, the guide put in this way "Shelly got violated!" I think she liked it!

After reading some info on Tarpon, I think we had an awesome day! One Tarpon in the boat (100lb +), One Tarpon (125lb +) too the boat and the 80lb leader broke and three other nice sized tarpon that hit the line and went airborne!

A little info on Captain Barry. He was a cool guide, putting him on my recommend list! He has a website: http://www.barrymeyer.com
He does both Flat/backcountry fishing and offshore fishing.

Shelly - Thanks for taking all the pics! When you need some more schooling on fishing, let me know and well set up round two!

Oh it's on!

You got lucky! SOOOOOO Lucky on your fish!

I could have deleted the damn pic's... But I will get my revenge another way!
Round 2, I will own you!!! See you in San Diego when the tuna get going good...
I hope you can use a bait caster???

Game On - Stay tuned for Round Two... What is the side bet for that one?

Side note: Thank you for posting Berry's info- Way good to do that for me

On another note:
TeamStriper - Are you from there? How have you run into those pin fish before?
cute little fuckers... they do hurt

Frank:
The elbow will be going into the DR. this week. Work is heating up... that come first -

I'm a CA native.
My wife is a Disney freak, in order to get me to Disney World some FL fishing had to be involved. Fished the space coast area for redfish & sea trout. Ran into pinfish while fishing for sea trout so we used them for bait for snook. Hooked 2 but both "rocked" us in the mangroves.
On our honeymoon we went on a Caribbean cruise that left from Puerto Rico. We got there a few days early to fish the mangroves for tarpon catching many in the 20 lb. range on that funky spinning crap with 8 lb. line. Had a 100+ blow up on a 5 lb. ladyfish I was soaking but the prick didn't stick.

Take care of the elbow, hope it's nothing serious. You know, now you must go hunt that tarpon down.

Josh

Thanks Josh... It looks like I am headed back in May with some other buddys from FullSpeedfishing. They used to live there and have a trip planned.

So I might be there sooner than I think
