You're right the blues are around. The Petzer group from the UK, fishing out Casa Vieja Lodge on the "Finest Kind" with Capt. Chico, "Intensity" with Capt. Chris each and "Fishy Business" with Capt. Nestor had several 375-400 blues raised, all hooked and released two. The group also raised 78 sails, releasing 44. Looks like the season is getting a fine start.

Doug Cajacob & Gil Fernandez who took advantage of our reduced rates came back for a second year - this time doing much better aboard the "Intensity" with Capt. Chris.

18th - 15 sails raised, 7 bites, 3 releases + 2 marlin raised.
19th - 6 sails raised, 3 bites + 1 marlin raised, 1 bite - zero released. All on fly. Quite a feat in itself to get a marlin on a fly with one more day to go.

Notes from Capt. Chris Sheeder: "The Casa Vieja season is officially underway and the first to take part was the Peter Petzer group from the Click the image to open in full size.U.K. who arrived on Oct 12th. The group consisting of Martin Kermak, Mike Barrett, Gavin Evans, Roy Smith, Mark Crook, David Roberts, and Dean Tinson, enjoyed four days of great weather and decent fishing. In their four days of fishing the boys raised close to a hundred sailfish and six Blue Marlin, catching fifty-four sails and two of the blues 350lbs & 400lbs., with a couple dorado and a twenty-one tunas for table fair as well. We're off to a great start, sending our first group home exhausted and smiling".

Get a group together and come on down!

Last day of fishing for the Cajacob party saw them with 10 raised sails, 5 bites and 2 releases + 1 marlin raised and bite.

So their total for the three days:
Sails: 31 raised, 15 bites, 5 released
Marlin: 4 raised, 2 bites, 0 released

All on fly - not the great fishing, but the weather was decent considering 400nm away was a monster storm.
