My question is, I know that there's real good fishing from shore there for bonefish and permit. I was planning on taking a little spinning rod setup and my fly rod setup. I was just kinda wondering what I should use with my fly set up? ie: floating or sinking line, what size flies, colors, etc...
Anybody have any experience flyfishing down there? I'm really stoked to give it shot!
Thanks so much any info!

I spent my honeymoon in Belize, Turneffe Caye, and went back twice after that. I flyfished for bonefish and tarpon, and brought bass tackle for Great Barracuda, snook, and all types of reef fish. I suggest you get a flats skiff/guided trip at least the first day to get a feel for the area, and that type of fishing. If your flyrod is a 6,7, or 8 weight, you will only need a WF floating line for bonefish; you may want to bring a sinking tip line for some of the other species (tarpon). Bonefish flies, like the Crazy Charlie and a crab imitation if you spot a permit will get the job done. You can go to your local flyfishing shop, and they can probably set you up with a flybox full of the basics.
I had a lot of fun wading right in front of my resort, and casting poppers on my Calcutta 250 for 10 to 30 lb. barracuda. Bring some wire leaders; the barracuda have much more wicked teeth than our Cali barracuda.
You can PM me if you have any specific questions.
Have fun.
