Fishing in Vancouver in April

Hello,

Does anyone have any recommendations on charter fishing in early April? I was looking to either go on a charter boat or hire a guide to head out for some Salmon/Halibut/Lincod Fishing. Any information would be appreciated.

April and May are 2 of the best months locally for Salmon-Halibut locally were fished out many decades ago and Ling Cod will be closed.

Salmon returning to the Fraser like to hunt Herring between 60-160 feet deep on a place called The Hump off Bowen Island-a 20 minute run and still within sight of the city-they congregate there April through May and by June have booted up the Fraser to spawn/die.

The fly in the ointment in terms of getting out is the wind-April is one of the windiest months and anywhere Salmon are found is quite exposed, the good news is that both the charters as mentioned leave from downtown locations just a short taxi ride from your hotel.
