Tuna off the West Coast VI

Hi fellow fisherman, has anyone been out for tuna lately??

The 62-degree temp has moved in along the West Coast with the blue water very reachable for a sports boat. It would be great to be able to head offshore and get into some tuna.

There is a website that shows the water temp and shows a map of the blue water, the problem is you have to pay to use it. Does anyone have access to this site and posts how far out you have to go now?

Looking for tips and tricks fishing for tuna??

Are there any charter boats that head offshore for tuna????????

Thanks in advance.

The blue water must be close as i just got back from my final trip of the season and saw 2 oddities: 1. a mola mola (just 2' baby) that liked my boat and hung around for a few minutes at 5 miles out and 2. humbolt squid (virtually everywhere when i was leaving by the thousands).

Hi Holmes, I was very close to the tuna in Sept but didn't go far enough out. I just came back from Bellingham and golfed with Blue Flame (Dan) and Derby King(Mike).

Happy golfing.

there are many members on the washington state forum that have subscriptions to the terafin charts you are looking for. you could also get quite a bit of tips and info from them pertaining to landing the Tuna this time of year. best of luck to you.

CoastWatch Browser - West Coast

this is free and extremely useful and flexible - there is quite a bit to learning how to use it though - it is my main tuna hunting source for waters just south of you...
