Ketchikan, Alaska

Sue, Steve, Donna and I went out fishing out of Ketchikan with a private charter. We fished for 4 hours with 3 downriggers and 1 top water feather. We caught 10 Silvers and one pinky. Had a great time. Stopped by the Cedar house where we had them gutted, filleted, and frozen. They then shipped to our house in San Diego. We had a great time, but our charter captain had a little bit of an attitude.

I hope your tip reflected his attitude.

If you have the time next time............ try Alaska Far West Fish Camp.

Great people and huge fish.

Enjoy the Salmon.

Yep we didn't give him a tip. He wanted us to send him a few pictures of our venture. I was thinking about sending him a picture of the finger.

Grats on the fish...sorry to hear about the dud for a skipper. Most of the charter captains I know (all locals) are great guys.

ps.
I see your from Alpine....I used to live in Crest and ate frequently at Manana's

Good catch. Sorry about the captain with an attitude. I'm not excusing his actions because there is no excuse to have attitude with clients unless they deserve one. Also keep in mind he has probably worked 15 hours a day 90 out of the last 100 days and we all get a little short fused and not as patient by the end of August. At least he did his job and you caught fish.

Honestly, I don't think he did his job if he left his clients unhappy.

With that said,I work hard to make sure my clients see the same apathetic, sarcastic, asshole from the first day of the season to the last. It is the mark of the good charter captain. Most of them most have stockholm syndrome because they seem to like to come back for more humiliation and abuse year after year......Right Ali? Jason? Marcus?....You are coming back aren't you??? Please....? Anyone?

Thanks for the support, I found this guy on the internet. He's trying to expand his fishing business. Said he only had a few clients this season. But I guess he's hoping for more. He is a handdeck on another sporter out of Ketchikan. I have fished for over 40 years, but my friend (Steve-left side of the picture) who is a novice fisherman didn't deserve to be constantly chewed out. I told the Captain that he was new at fishing. Now that we're back in San Diego I cant get him to go back out. Thanks to that Captain.

That sucks. We fished in Juneau last year and had a great crew. Tell your buddy to nut up, and that you wont do the same to him that the ahole did.

Post a name and tell your friend to give it another try with a better guide/charter.
